I love sunshine!
I love days like today. After several weeks of snow (over 1 foot in accumulation) and many weeks of bitterly cold temperatures, yesterday was 65 degrees and today they are predicting at least that with sunshine. I understand why most cases of depression are diagnosed in the winter time as it is just miserable outside. You can't go out without feeling like your toes are going to fall off, the grass (if you can see it) is a horrible shade of brown and the sun seems to be nonexistent. Yesterday (and today) was sunny and beautiful. I had Brad wash my car on Sunday and it was so nice to not have the snow remnants stuck to various parts of my car. I live for sunshine. I was even tempted to bust out the sandals to wear to work today but after looking at my jacked up toes (I've lost 4 toesnails from running and playing soccer) and lack of pedicure, I decided to wear closed toe shoes (I am going bare-legged though). I hope each of you has a sunshiney day. Go outside and enjoy the beautiful weather today, cause I heard it's going to change tomorrow.

Winter wonderland
So, yesterday morning the weather forcasters predicted we'd get 1-3" yesterday and possibly another 1-3" overnight last night for a maximum of 6". By the 6:00 news they were quickly changing their stories and we have a winter storm warning in effect until noon today. When we went to bed last night there was probably 4" of so on the ground. Here's what we woke up to this a.m. (about 9"). Brad is out snowblowing and the kids are just playing in the deep snow. Schools have been cancelled, everyone from my work is working from home (which is good for me since I'm still sick) and Brad is planning to head into work about 10:00. We plan to enjoy a day of staying home, staying warm and I plan to start a pot of beef stew in the crockpot for dinner. Hope everyone stays warm!

Out of the meatlocker and into the frying pan???
Well, not actually. But with the drastic change in temperature that I'm going to experience tomorrow, I think that's what it will feel like. Today's high is a balmy 3 degrees with wind chills at -20. Tomorrow will be a balmier 9 degrees. Since I'm leaving for Florida tomorrow, I will leave meatlocker temps of 9 degrees and arrive in 50-60 degree weather (not quite a frying pan, but major difference). If I had to choose, I'd prefer to be well baked instead of frozen.
Anyways, tomorrow 12 of us leave for Florida to participate in our 3v3 soccer tournament at the Disney Wide World of Sports Complex. This is our 6th year doing this and it is always a great time. The facility is beautiful and Ben loves the scenery (i.e. the NCAA cheerleading championships are at the same complex during the same time) :) Our teams will play Saturday-Monday and then we come back to the meatlocker on Tuesday. A nice break to thaw out...I can't wait.
